About Me

My name is Maddie Shaw, I’m an artist and illustrator based in North Devon. Currently studying art and design at college; I use my time there to explore my style and try new techniques. My work often has a theme based off of personal experiences such as grief, neurodivergence and mental health issues. Art is so emotional for me, I take so much joy in developing my ideas.

Feelings have a significant impact on my art. Sometimes I want to translate pain into something beautiful, other times I use art to express the affection I have for some people. My favorite person to draw is undoubtedly my brother, Louis who I lost when I was twelve. Although drawing has been an interest of mine from an early age, it became hugely important to me as I grieved.
